Experience

Cristian Mitrani is an expert in international business law, with particular emphasis on M&A, joint ventures, various types of business transactions, corporate governance, international arbitration, competition law and white-collar crime. He has acted as lead counsel in record-setting privatizations, acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic alliances in various countries. He assists clients on corporate investigations, on the implementation of procedures for the prevention of white-collar crime and on strategic management of critical litigation.

He leads the Corporate and Mergers & Acquisitions practices at Previously, Mr. Mitrani was a partner in charge of the international practice at Bruchou, Fernández Madero, Lombardi & Mitrani (2000-2007). He was a visiting partner with Bonelli Erede Pappalardo, Milan (2004-2005) and senior in-house counsel with the Techint Group (1984-2000). He previously served as a law clerk for the Chief Justice of the Argentine Supreme Court of Justice (1980-1984) and the National Administrative Court of Appeals (1978-1980).

Cristian Mitrani has been honoured by the President of Italy as Commendatore dell’Ordine della Stella d’Italia (April 22, 2008) and Grande Ufficiale dell’Ordine della Stella d’Italia (July 14, 2015). He has been repeatedly recommended as one of the “Leaders in their Field” (Corporate/M&A-Argentina) for The World’s Leading Lawyers for Business published by Chambers & Partners annually and has been ranked as Star Individual in Corporate/M&A-Argentina by Chambers Latin America. Additionally, he won the 2013 Best Lawyers’ award “Lawyer of the Year” for Argentina/Corporate M&A, he received the Client Choice Award 2012 and 2015 for General Corporate Argentina, granted by the International Law Office (ILO) and has also won the 2012 Latin Lawyer Award “Law Firm Leader of the Year” for Argentina. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (AAA), the International Bar Association (IBA) and an associate member of the American Bar Association (ABA).
