Damiana Ponferrada has an outstanding career as a lawyer in both the public and private sectors. Since the beginning of her career, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills, having built an extensive professional network and gained significant experience in the legal field.

She worked at the National Auditing Office (Sindicatura General de la Nación) from 2018 to 2024. During  many years she was a sole practitioner and also worked for her family’s law firm. Early in her career, she was an associate at Pérez Alati, Grondona, Benites, Arntsen & Martínez de Hoz (h) (1993-1995 and 1997-2002) and a foreign associate at Shearman & Sterling in New York (1996-1997).

Damiana Ponferrada graduated as a lawyer from Universidad Católica Argentina with Honors (1993) and earned an LL.M. from Georgetown University with Distinction (1996). She was also awarded the “Dean’s Certificate” in recognition of special and outstanding service to the law center community. She currently serves as Argentine Ambassador for Georgetown University’s LL.M. Program.

Her international experience and deep understanding of both the local and global legal landscape are a significant asset in her role as the leader of the business development team at Mitrani Caballero.
