IBA 2024: Sharing our perspectives on key industry topics

Mitrani Caballero was present at the annual International Bar Association (IBA) conference in Mexico City. Siro Astolfi, Juan Manuel Iglesias Mamone, Diego Parise, and Mercedes Rodríguez Giavarini represented our firm at this event, one of the most significant for legal professionals worldwide.

In addition to holding enriching meetings with colleagues from around the world, we were invited to participate in two IBA 2024 panels, where we shared our perspectives on key industry topics.

Mercedes Rodríguez Giavarini was a speaker at the session “Change is constant – the evolving role of the General Counsel,” moderated by James Harper. In this panel, she reflected on the multifaceted role of General Counsels, who, far from solely providing legal advice, must also act as lawyers, risk managers, and business advisors. Alongside Jenifer Swallow and Diana Wilson Patrick, she discussed the challenges faced by those in this role in a landscape shaped by geopolitical, environmental, economic, and technological changes.

Meanwhile, Juan Manuel Iglesias Mamone participated in the conference “Tax-AI-tion and the digital divide,” moderated by Albert Collado and Thais De Barros Meira. Alongside Maria Seung Yon Chang, Cristian Fernández Moreno, and Carla Herrera Ferez, he delved into the impact of artificial intelligence on tax practice.

Participating in this event was a valuable opportunity to share experiences and reflect on the challenges of transnational law, in line with our commitment to providing global legal solutions tailored to the specific needs of our international clients.
