Women at Mitrani Caballero 2025 begins with the story of Haciendo Camino

In celebration of Women’s Month, we held the first Women at Mitrani Caballero event of the year. To kick off this new edition of the series, we had the participation of Cristian Mitrani and an inspiring talk by Catalina Hornos, founder of Haciendo Camino.

Women at Mitrani Caballero has established itself as a fundamental pillar within the firm, fostering the professional growth of our female lawyers and strengthening a support network among colleagues. Since its creation, the initiative has promoted spaces for dialogue and learning aligned with our commitment to gender equality and our adherence to the UN Women’s Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs).

On this occasion, we invited Catalina Hornos to share her story with our team. In 2006, she founded Haciendo Camino, an organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of children and families in socially vulnerable situations in northern Argentina. To achieve this, the organization runs programs that promote the comprehensive growth and development of children. Additionally, it provides training for mothers in vocational skills and nutrition, starting from pregnancy.

Catalina Hornos’ journey began while she was still a student of educational psychology. She traveled to Añatuya, Santiago del Estero, to support children in their studies and help them reintegrate into school. After graduating, she returned to continue assisting families. This marked the beginning of Haciendo Camino, which today brings together 200 professionals and 100 volunteers across three provinces. The organization also operates a network of 12 Child Development and Family Strengthening Centers, serving 22 rural communities in Santiago del Estero and Chaco.

“The warmth, empathy, and commitment felt in the atmosphere were truly inspiring. I am grateful to Mitrani Caballero for providing us with such a valuable space for women, allowing us to participate in events that enrich us both personally and professionally,” said Ana Clara Gomez Casadei, Labor Law partner and the firm’s diversity and inclusion representative, after the event.

We invite all our female lawyers to join the upcoming Women at Mitrani Caballero meetings to create more spaces for dialogue, learning, and growth, making our professional environment increasingly inclusive and equitable.
